We are now taking pre-orders for the TAIGA 'Hsheal' LP, due for release December 8.

Taiga is the solo space monniker of Bryant Clifford Meyer from Red Sparowes, Windmills By The Ocean, Isis and The Gersch.
The LP is limited to 750 copies, 180gr vinyl (100 fluo green, 150 solid yellow, and 500 black). This will be a one time pressing, once they're gone they're gone for good!

Monno - Ghosts preorder

We are doing the new MONNO album due for release November 21. For you unaware about this band, MONNO is a Swiss / Canadian band around Antoine Chessex and Gilles Aubry. Antoine Chessex travels the world with his solo tenor sax performances, he has performed and played with Sudden Infant, Chris Corsano, KTL, Hijokaidan, Lasse Marhaug, Aethenor, Zbigniew Karkowsky and many more. Gilles Aubry is known for his solo sound installations, field recordings and collaborations with Keiji Haino, Axel Doerner and the improv duo The Same Girl.
With MONNO they are more than the sum of their parts. This is the third MONNO album we are involved in, the first album Candlelight Technology was released on our sister label Subdeviant Records, and is temporarely available from the band only. Their second album ‘Error’ was released in 2006, the vinyl went out of print almost straight away and the CD was well received, and got the band to tour with Lightning Bolt, Isis, Jesu and Knut. And now there is ‘Ghosts’, their 3rd album. Etheric yet droning vocals covered in doom frost, gradually moving into uptempo black metal waters, than backdropping in sludge mystery like a free-jazz bat in the night…. ENVY have never left their emotionally unstable path of heavy postrock oaths, but again they've cracked open it's core and stripped the sound down to it's epic essence. Always passionate and persistent, most motivational products create unrealistic expectations but stay blind in the mist. Resembling a dose of insomnia, Envy blaze like a grey wind through the cream of the Japanese screamo-postrock crop. Shuffling forward with solitude and starring at a dying light, an unknown glow. Splendid emotionally layered riffs and carved drums guide, and give understanding of despair. Deeply wandering through thick clouds of post-hardcore guitar dust, musically chanelling the remorseless pieces that lead to the dark side. They continue to swing like an eternal pendulum. A coma may also result from head trauma, caused by the mechanisms such as a fall or headlock. Ever since it's formation in 2003, guru Justin K. Broadrick has let no one come close to the throne. He comes and asks questions later. On this new slab he incorporates melodic twisted pop elements with downtempo heavyness, creating a stark textured vessel intoxicated by the minimalism of cold techno drama. JESU holds on to the feeling of eternity, still being a modern day flymachine, yet never losing a transient sight. In a world where lies and reality constantly transform, we need new frames of thought. New bricks in the wall, and new days off to rethink how we'll spend our days off. That's karma. On the righteous path, no tears left to cry. It was too dark to see whether it was staring at us, but im guessing it was!

Stretched strings, metal clatter, bells and chains form an eerie trance inducing carpet that inspires and drags the listener down in a radiant sea of darkness. We are grateful to announce we will be releasing the new albums for ISIS and MONO due for release spring 2009.

We have been working with both ISIS and MONO extensively througout the past few years, so it might not come as a surprise we are now solidifying our working relation.

MONO's new album is in the process of being recorded by Steve Albini and is due for release in March 2009. Temporary Residence will release their album in the US and will be doing the vinyl version of their new record, while Conspiracy will release their new album for Europe.



ISIS is currently writing new material for their upcoming full length due for release on Ipecac in the US and Conspiracy in Europe. We will be releasing both vinyl and CD.

we recently announced the colors for the Jesu/Envy split lp, unfortuntaly we received a message from the pressing plant saying that they can't press the record on transparent green vinyl so we switched to gold vinyl. The pressing will now be:

Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat has always been utterly fascinated with primitive savagery and heathen tactics. On this third full length endeavor, they explore and recast their horror-filled doom theme in the light of current debates on modernity and globalization. Minimalist instrumentation and hypnotic ultra dramatic vocals are wrapped in equal parts doom ridden heresy, the percussion is stripped down off hazy emotions and stretched into a pure vessel of magical strength, where a muted buzz deliberately enforces mental overload. A divine doom folk/rock cloud that shares apocalyptic interests with such visionaries as Current 93, Woven Hand, Richard Youngs, Comus and other uplifting pagan psych-folk.

With bestial roots in the anti-establishment punk movement and a healthy dose of nihilism, Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat are ready to drive the wooden stake through the heart of inner demons. Nadja - Truth Becomes Death 2xlp

The Nadja - Truth Becomes Death 2xlp is now available.

The recording opens with “Bug/Golem”, an epic track weighing in at a walloping 23 minutes. The piece opens slowly, building from a distant drone that matures into riffing and sparse percussion and then escalates into a murky wall of sound. At the halfway point the track changes dramatically, utilizing heavy guitar riffs alongside buried layers of vocals that combine with eerie melodies before finally trailing off with a whisper. The second composition, “Memory Leak,” erupts with a colossal blast of doom metal and advances at a menacing, sloth-like pace, making it reminiscent of a more plodding Isis or a cross between Earth and Rafael Toral. In its last quarter the track shifts into an opaque soundscape of drones and remote noises. The closer “Breakpoint”, commences with a thick fog of cacophony and then assumes a more subdued tone, employing serene vocals in a style that brings to mind The For Carnation. The final and most tranquil section of the record makes use of ghostly murmuring that brings “Truth Beomes Death” to a graceful yet ominous conclusion.’ – Alien 8 Recordings -

HeatdeatH... blacker than black!

The HeatdeatH records have arrived at the office... limited black vinyl (250 copies), with black print fold out sleeve, showing nothing but the dark future which lays ahead of us: grim, violent, foreign and insipid.

With HeatdeatH, Andrew Broder and Tim Glenn are flirting with the dire circumstances of the human condition in the abstract. The two tracks on this black slab of vinyl are thematically linked in sound, structure and mood. The music evokes a place unpleasant and unbearable.

HeatdeatH is a duo from Minnesota that conjures up sound with guitars, drums and machines. Musically informed by Black Metal, Free Jazz, Electronic Composition, four track recording and pretty shit, their sound constantly unfolds and overlaps, searching melodically with great sadness and beauty, while overwhelmingly abrasive and terrifying all at once. HeatdeatH is the Void, Infinite Cosmic Despair, and the end of consciousness.

First we'd like to wish everyone a splendid 2008!
2007 was a blast for us with the new Maninkari CDs, the collaborations of our dearest Fear Falls Burning with Birchville Cat Motel and Nadja, and Sunburned Hand of the Man with Circle of course. We had some delicious new MGR stuff, a very tasty Skull Defekts record and we were delighted to throw in those Pleasure Forever recordings we got from Sub Pop. Even earlier there was the Growing 'Live' LP and of course Jesu's 'Conqueror' and Isis' 'Celestial'.

Our plan is to continue that path to pleasing your ears this year, and we have quite some stuff in the works to do just so:

HEATDEATH 'St' (very) limited LP - handnumbered/black

HeatdeatH is a duo from Minnesota that conjures up sound with guitars, drums and machines. Musically informed by Black Metal, Free Jazz, Electronic Composition, four track recording and pretty shit, their sound constantly unfolds and overlaps, searching melodically with great sadness and beauty, while overwhelmingly abrasive and terrifying all at once. HeatdeatH is the Void, Infinite Cosmic Despair, and the end of consciousness.
With HeatdeatH, Andrew Broder and Tim Glenn are flirting with the dire circumstances of the human condition in the abstract. The two tracks on this black slab of vinyl are thematically linked in sound, structure and mood. The music evokes a place unpleasant and unbearable.

Dirk Serries is one hard working man! This highly-anticipated new studio album is the initiation of a change in method and playing for Serries aka Fear Falls Burning. On this album he blends his drone spectrum with slow repetitive drums (with drummers such as Tim Bertilsson/Switchblade, Magnus Lindberg/Cult of Luna & Dave 'Conspiracy' Vanderplas/Ontayso!), and additional guitar layers, manifesting a work of mysterious landscapes of ghostly echoes and whispered guitars, long stretches of blissy drift and dark washes of distorted hiss...
The vinyl version has one extra track ( ‘The Passage Of Wrath’) and one hidden track.

At first, there are holes in the texture, bound together solely by the ambient atmospherics Serries (= Fear Falls Burning, sic) waves into them. But more and more, he sews the islands together, smoothening out the gaps and billowing the resonance into the pounding heartbeat of a supernatural entity. This is a drone if ever there was one! [...] The songs are astoundingly similar, but it is this very feat of never reaching one's goal which makes Jesu so strong: In its constant suffering, the band reaches an emblematic uniqueness, which sublimates their outwardly easy guitar/bass/drum exercises to art."

melancholic soundscapes… MGR (the acronym for Mustard Gas and Roses, which Gallagher has borrowed from a line of Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five), is an emotionally charged amalgamation of sounds that, much to its credit, refuses to fit neatly into any particular category.

Maninkari manages to add more textures and tonalities with various middle eastern origined instruments like Cymbalom and Santoor, resulting in adventurous and exploring new soundscapes.
This is truly something unforeseen and thoroughly special.

To celebrate a decade of being a band, ISIS, CONSPIRACY RECORDS and ROBOTIC EMPIRE announce the details for a 10th anniversary box set release. This fall, the Boston-to-Los Angeles transplants will release their entire studio recordings in one deluxe 12 vinyl-LP box set. With an oversized poster insert and cloth-bound, foil-stamped custom box, the band is aiming to make this set something their avid collector fans will be proud to own.

Long-time label associates Conspiracy Records (Belgium) and Robotic Empire (USA) have joined forces to unleash this extravagant release, which will be limited to 600 copies worldwide. 300 will be available through Robotic Empire in the US and 300 will be available through Conspiracy Records in Europe (both versions will be exactly the same). All releases will be housed in newly designed covers with artwork created specifically for this release, which includes the following records:

27 is a 4 piece band based in Boston that uses sample loops, rock instruments and sultry vocals to create dark pop songs with a broad range of emotions and textures. The instrumentation ranges from gently sparse to lushly full, revolving around the alluring and captivating vocals. The more experimental tracks with electronic loops and landscape elements often create a tripped-out vibe, while other songs explore a more simple and direct rock approach. First of all the MANINKARI - Psychoide / Participation Mystic cd.
This is the debut EP from Maninkari. Operating out of Paris, this band is gonna be high priority for Conspiracy Records. We were awestruck upon receiving their first demos, and decided to recruit JUSTIN BROADRICK (JESU, Final, Techno Animal, Godflesh) and ROBIN RIMBAUD (SCANNER, Githead) to do a remix of two amazing Maninkari pieces. Psychoide; A gorgeous soft cacophony of epic post rock drift and minimal jazzy shuffle. Dense drumming, frenzied strings, wound into tense soundscapes of slow burning shimmer. Godspeed plays the Dirty Three, or maybe Angus Maclise jamming with Chris Corsano, dark and druggy, some sort of glorious mantra-like minimalist dronejazz, with a super cinematic Phillip Glass like coda...
Participation Mystic; Lilting pizzicato strings, underpinned by deep soft swells of shimmering warmth and distant bits of industrial clatter, a slow burning ambient drift that is eventually joined by a simple motorik rhythm, transforming the pulsing ambience into something jazzy and minimal, propulsive and hypnotic, channeling the spirit of Finnish hypnorockers Circle and minimal dronejazz combo the Necks... and again near the end, everything enveloped by intense swarms of frenetic strings... SUNBURNED HAND OF THE MAN is a band in the loose sense of the word; it's better described as a banner under which a collective of musical freaks have gathered. So when they toured Europe in September 2006, and ended up in the same room as Psych/Kraut/Hard-rockers CIRCLE in Tampere-Finland, they decide to jam together and record all of it.
This session was edited down to a total of 40-minutes which wanders ongoing through free folk, psych, improv, spaced out- hippy jamming & noisy-rock bizareness .
The collaboration of both America's & Finland's weirdest, is nothing less than sensational.

We announced a week ago that the release of the FEAR FALLS BURNING 5x LP box was delayed.
A couple of days ago we got news from the label that it is again delayed for at least another week.

We want to apologize to all of you who pre-ordered the box for this delay.
All we can say is that the wait will definitely be worth it and that we will make sure to ship this as soon as they come in.

here is last week's 'official' statement from the label;

"like you, we eagerly await the arrival of the fear falls burning 5lp set once we all walk through solid objects. the project has been received with a lot of enthousiasm and anticipation since we announced its release earlier this year and has virtually sold out by now. the production already started last year and when we announced the pre-orders mid april, all was on a track for a smooth release early june, even with the re-test of one side of the album. problems started with the delivery of the special cardboard which cause delivery problems at the jacket printer due to it's larger size with a 12mm spine. last week we finally received the first few copies and they looked smashing. and sounded smashing, apart from the very first beginning of side one - the bass communion track. we think that you pay to receive a perfect record rather than a hastily arranged mediocre record, so we decided to repress the first disc. we could have suspected that we were going to be part of murphy's law and we just heard we're right in the middle of it. the special crystal clear vinyl needed to repress the first disc appears to be not clean which means new vinyl has to arrive at the pressing plant. there's a rush order on the vinyl and the pressing plant expects a delivery early next week from italy, after which our treasured release will be first in line to get going. in the meantime, we cannot give you an exact release date. we hope you bear with us, that we are doing our utmost best to deliver a topnotch release as soon as possible."
